Google Sheets

A Google connection lets Mycorr read spreadsheets you choose from your Google account. Each table you pick out of a spreadsheet becomes a table in your model, and stays in sync with Google Sheets.

You can connect several Google accounts, such as a work and a personal one. Each is its own connection.

Connect a Google account

  1. Open Connections → Add connection and pick Google account.
  2. A Google sign-in window opens. Choose the account and approve.
  3. The connection appears in your list, named after the account's email.

If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for Mycorr and try again.

What Mycorr asks for

  • drive.file: only the files you pick or that Mycorr creates for you. Mycorr can't list or open the rest of your Drive.
  • Your email address and name, to label the connection.

Import a spreadsheet

  1. Inside a model, open Import → Connections and expand your Google account.
  2. Click Pick a spreadsheet and choose one in the Google Drive picker. It stays in the list, so next time Search spreadsheets finds it.
  3. Choose tables to import opens with the spreadsheet's tabs:
    • This whole tab imports a tab as one table.
    • To take part of a tab, drag across the table on the sheet, header row included. A tab can hold several tables.
    • Import transposed is for a table whose field names run down the first column.
  4. Name each table and import. Every table is marked Stays in sync with Google Sheets.

If the source has no column that identifies rows, Mycorr asks you to pick one. See Row tracking.

Keep it in sync

Sheets tables are read-only in Mycorr: edit the spreadsheet, then choose Sync Sheet from the table's menu (or Checkpoint, then sync). Only the model's owners can sync.

Renaming, moving, adding and deleting columns in the sheet is handled. See Syncing Data from Google Sheets for how columns are followed, and Syncing for rows.

Exporting to Google Sheets

You can also send a table the other way. Choose Export → Google Sheets from a table's menu, then:

  • New spreadsheet: Mycorr creates one in your Drive. This always works.
  • Existing spreadsheet: use Choose from Google Drive… to pick one, then write to a New tab or replace an existing tab.

This is the only time Mycorr writes to Google. Export is a one-off copy; it doesn't keep the sheet updated.

Revoking

  • In Mycorr: delete the connection on the Connections page. Its tables keep their data but stop syncing.
  • In Google: remove Mycorr at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Syncs then fail; delete the connection in Mycorr too.
