Sharing Tables
Sharing a table lets someone use it in their own models without opening yours. They import it, and from then on they read its release.
Release first
People you share a table with only ever get its released versions, never your work in progress.
So a table needs a release before it can be shared. If it has none, the share dialog says so and offers Add a release: give the release a name, such as "v1.0", and the current version is released. You can then share.
When you release a newer version later, the people who imported it see Sync to latest release on their copy and take it when they are ready.
Permissions
| Permission | They can |
|---|---|
| Can Import | Import the table into their own models |
| Can Share | Import it, and share it on with others. Whoever they share with gets Can Import. |
Only the table's owners, the owners of its model, can give Can Share or remove access.
Some tables can't be shared: tables a recipe writes, and tables in a Sealed space.
Revoke access
An owner can remove anyone from the table's share list at any time.
Any import they made becomes a read-only stub: it stays on their canvas, marked as no longer accessible, but its rows are gone.
Asking for access
If you can see a table but aren't allowed to import it, for example as a viewer of its model, dragging it onto your canvas sends its owners a request instead. You'll see "Requested access … pending approval", and the table arrives once an owner shares it with you.
Moving a table to another model
A table you own can be moved into another model you own: choose Transfer Ownership from its menu, which opens Move table. The picker asks for the organization first, shows which links would be cut, and won't move a table out of its connection's organization or into the catalog when the rules don't allow it.
